Overview
The Smart Savers Initiative offered through the Ameren Illinois Energy Efficiency Program offers customers within select residential communities the ability to receive a smart thermostat for free. Eligible customers who live in these communities and who are residential customers of Ameren Illinois who are heating with gas or electricity delivered by Ameren Illinois, are eligible for the Smart Savers Initiative. Customers heating their home with propane are also eligible. Eligible customers will receive a FREE Google Nest Thermostat E or ecobee3 lite, which includes FREE professional installation.
The Smart Savers Initiative offered through the Ameren Illinois Energy Efficiency Program allows qualified customers living in eligible ZIP Codes to receive a FREE smart thermostat with FREE professional installation.

Before getting started, please check to make sure your heating and cooling system is compatible with the smart thermostat of your choice.

To participate in this program, please check the below requirements:
- Must be a residential customer of Ameren Illinois, heating your home with gas or electricity. Customers heating their home with propane are also eligible.
- If you do not have central air conditioner in your home, we do not recommend installing a smart thermostat. Homes that do not supply power to the smart thermostat year-round will have issues when trying to use seasonally. Additionally, homes without central air conditioning have wiring that will not work with a smart thermostat. - Must live in a qualifying ZIP code (click here to see the list of qualified ZIP codes).
- Have never applied for and received a smart thermostat of any kind at your current home address for the lifetime of being an Ameren Illinois residential customer.
